My name is Paul Ouellette Jr, and I’ve been involved with RC since age 7, now almost 33 years. I have owned everything from RC off-road trucks and cars, RC boats, RC dirt bikes, to RC snowmobiles, and everything in between. I raced off-road cars and trucks for almost 15 years.

I’m 39 years old, and have grown up with aviation in my blood. My father was a full scale pilot, and I got to fly his 6 passenger Cherokee 6 when I was 13 years old, with very little assistance. My amazing sister is a co-captain for American Airlines, and is flying the Boeing 777 from NY to Paris, Brazil, London etc. She has been flying since age 12, got her pilots license at 17, and became an instructor at 18.

I always wanted to fly RC planes, and my Dad and I dabbled with it, but it never came to fruition due to owning his own business, and being so tied up. He gave me his Carl Goldberg Eagle 2 Trainer, and his scratch built 1/4 scale Champ that he purchased in 1988 from an older man who was an avid RC pilot.

My dad passed away in 2005, and we never had the chance to fly RC. In early 2010, a friend had asked me, “why haven’t you ever done anything with those great airplanes?” That was the final push I needed to get going. I have had the pleasure of being a member of this beautiful airfield, and club, since September of 2010, and  even being the former President of the club for the last 2 years. I have enjoyed getting to meet many great people along the way, and fly many different aircraft.

My flagship is my AeroWorks 35% Extra 300 with a DA-120cc engine. It is hard to believe that a little over 5 years ago, I hadn’t even been in the air, to where I’m at now in this amazing hobby. I also am flying Helicopters now, and love my Goblin 380 helicopter, and have picked up a Goblin 700 helicopter, which I’m getting ready to strip, and upgrade it to the Competition Kit.

I am extremely passionate about the hobby, sometimes too much probably, but this is what I do!! I love to help, teach, and see people succeed. Lastly, I have to say thank you to my loving wife, and kids for being so supportive, and to the many great friends I’ve made throughout these past 5 years.

This is not only a hobby that is fun, educational, and amazing, but it is a amazing way to make great friends!
